Gold Seal of Approval for Primary Stroke Care
We earned our second gold seal from the Joint Commission for our outstanding stroke care. Hospitals with this title have the resources, organization and expertise to diagnose and manage patients with acute stroke. Tri-City first achieved this designation in 2007 and was re-certified in 2009. It is one of only eight hospitals in San Diego County that has met or exceeded indicators set by the Joint Commission and American Stroke Association. Read more.

Stroke Care - Nationally Certified
The "Get With the Guidelines" Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award has been earned by Tri-City Medical Center for a fourth consecutive year. With this recognition, Tri-City has been rewarded with the Target:Stroke Honor Roll for rapid stroke care. This award is given by the American Stroke and Heart Associations and certifies 85% or higher adherence to standards and quality care measures.

Heart Failure - Nationally Certified
The "Get With the Guidelines" Silver Plus Performance Achievement Award has been earned by Tri-City Medical Center. With this recognition, Tri-City has qualified to be recognized as a recipient of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll. This award is given by the American Stroke and Heart Associations and certifies 85% or higher adherence to standards and quality care measures. This recognition also requires 75% compliance to (4 out of 9 heart failure quality measures or 7 out of 10 stroke quality measures) during the 12-month period.

Tri-City's cancer program received national accreditation for its comprehensive care, with commendation. The elite status is bestowed on just 1400 cancer treatment facilities nationwide by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer. Wellness Center - Named Best Gym in SD County
The Tri-City Wellness Center in Carlsbad is the best gym in San Diego County, according to viewers of local TV station 10 news. This is the third year in a row the state-of-the-art fitness and health center has topped the 'A' List Awards. The Wellness Center is open for public membership and features a yoga studio, three saline pools, resistance and free weight training equipment, spa services and a healthy cafe.

Designated Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement
Tri-City Medical Center has been designated as a Blue Distinction Center for knee and hip replacement by Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The designation was awarded because we deliver high-quality and safe specialty care based on criteria that directly impacts patient results, such as surgical team expertise and a history of better outcomes for patients. We are the only hospital in North County and one of two hospitals in San Diego County to earn the distinction; the other is UC San Diego Medical Center. The program, which Blue Cross/Blue Shield developed with input from the medical community, recognizes that TCMC outperforms its peers in quality and safety.
