Tri-City Medical Center was honored December 7, 2006, with the Public Partner of the Year Award presented by the San Diego North Economic Development Council (SDNEDC). Council CEO Gary Knight presented the award to Tri-City Healthcare District Board Chair Larry Schallock citing the Medical Center’s "continued contribution to the economic enhancement of the Region and for its impact to the community’s quality of life." According to Knight, recipients were chosen from among the SDNEDC’s 110 member organizations.
