Tri-City Medical Center Named Presenting Sponsor for Mercury Insurance Open Women's Tennis Event 

Charity Auction Proceeds Will Help Tri-City Fight Breast Cancer 

Carlsbad, CA -Tournament officials announced today that  Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, a full-service, acute care hospital, has been named presenting sponsor for the 2010 Mercury Insurance Open. The women's professional tennis tournament will take place July 31 through August 8, 2010 at the La Costa Resort and Spa.

Tri-City Medical Center, which was founded in 1957, serves the healthcare needs of coastal North San Diego County including most of Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista.

"Tri-City's mission is to improve the health and wellness of our community," said Larry Anderson, CEO, Tri-City Medical Center. "Partnering with such a wonderful, international sporting event, in our community, gives us a great opportunity to convey the message to everyone we serve that we are dedicated to helping them lead healthy, active lives."

A charity event to benefit Tri-City Medical Center will take place on Thursday, August 5th from 5 to 7 PM during the Mercury Insurance Open at the La Costa Resort and Spa. The evening will include cocktails, an opportunity to meet former and current players, a charity auction and admittance to the tournament's night session.
