Baby of Mine: Visitors and Security

Welcoming your baby into the world with the help of family and friends is an important part of the childbirth experience. At Tri-City Medical Center, we encourage new moms to receive visitors while insuring the health, security and well-being of you and your child.

Visiting Hours for Labor, Deliver and Recovery

Fathers or partners and grandparents may visit at any time. All others may visit from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Only two visitors are allowed per bed at one time. No children under 14 years of age are permitted, except siblings with a current vaccination record.

Visiting Hours for Neonatal Intensive Care

Parents may visit a child in the neonatal intensive care unit from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM and from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM every day. Visiting hours for others are 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Any non-parent must be accompanied by one parent. Only two visitors are allowed per bed at one time.

Security for You and Your Baby

Tri-City Medical Center provides the security of a safety-locked unit to protect both you and your newborn. No one, including family members, will be admitted without careful screening. Our goal is to prevent the spread of infectious disease or the presence of unauthorized persons.

All newborns receive identification bracelets to match their mother's at birth. All staff wear special badges that identify them as Baby of Mine professionals. No one comes in or out of the Maternity Unit without authorization.

No Car Seats or Carriers in the Maternity Unit

Baby car seats and carriers are not allowed in the Maternity Unit because of security risks. We ask that you leave your car seat in your car and do not bring a carrier. When it's time to go home, new mothers are taken to the hospital door in wheelchairs, carrying their babies in their arms.
