Vitamin E Improves Durability, Strength
The need for joint replacement can happen at any age. Active people are requiring knee replacements at a younger age and living longer. It's increasingly important to use strong, lasting materials in joint replacement.
E+™ Vitamin E Knee - Blended to Move You
A new advanced total knee replacement device called the e+™ is now available. Tri-City Medical Center performed the first surgery in San Diego County using this innovation in July 2012.
E+™ is an innovative polyethylene blended with vitamin E, a natural anti-oxidant. Vitamin E is blended right into the resin used for the device. This insert has been created for the 3DKnee™, a knee replacement designed to improve strength, stability and flexion.
Stronger, longer life for devices
Adding vitamin E will help the material hold up to the expectations of today's active patient.
Polyethylene wear is a weak point in total knee replacements. Vitamin E improves the material's tensile strength while preventing polyethylene degenerating oxidation.
