Tri-City Foundation Communities of Caring

TCHF Latino Leadership Initiative

The TCHF Board of Trustees is committed to expanding the Foundation's leadership and its donor base to more reflect the diversity of the hospital district and its population that Tri-City Medical Center serves.

Recognizing that approximately 30% of the population and 25% of Tri-City Medical Center's patients are Latino, the Board of Trustees is implementing an initiative to identify and recruit Latino community and business leaders. As a first step, an advisory group of individuals met in January to learn about the hospital, the Foundation, and the role that Tri-City Medical Center plays in their life and the lives of their families. They were asked to help prepare for and to suggest names to invite to the first organizational meeting of the Foundation's Latino Leadership Council.

Over the course of the next year, the Latino Leadership Council will examine ways to engage Latino families into the tradition of philanthropy and to suggest a particular project for fundraising that is most meaningful for the community and the hospital.
