Tri-City Hospital Foundation Board Approves $112,000 To Purchase Capital Equipment For Cardiovascular Health Institute At Tri-City Medical Center
Hospital will purchase state-of-the-art echocardiography system and Bovie Cautery units for cardiovascular patient care
OCEANSIDE – The Tri-City Hospital Foundation approved a purchase request from Tri-City Medical Center for cardiovascular equipment on Tuesday, May 17. The hospital will purchase an echocardiography system and Bovie Cautery units for the advanced Cardiovascular Health Institute. The new echocardiography system will allow physicians to visualize both 2D and 3D images of patients’ hearts. An updated and redesigned medical bed will give technicians better positioning to perform such scans while providing patients with better back support. Two new Bovie Cautery units were also approved for purchase — devices that seal tissue and blood vessels by way of a direct electrical current, allowing for more rapid and precise cauterizing during surgical procedures.
“The new equipment purchases will allow Tri-City Medical Center’s dedicated physicians to give better care to their patients,” said Tobi Ferguson, President of Tri-City Hospital Foundation. “These are investments that we are able to make into the health of our community through overwhelming local support.”
The new equipment will be purchased through the Tri-City Hospital Foundation’s diligent fundraising efforts for the Tri-City Medical Center. Funding for the equipment came from the efforts of the Foundation’s popular TaylorMade Golf ‘Fore’ Your Heart Pro-Am Invitational, which raised over $125,000. All proceeds from the event will go toward the Medical Center’s Cardiovascular Health Institute.
