Tri‐City Hospital Foundation Reports $5.49 Million Raised in its Last Fiscal Year
Funds raised support equipment purchase and programs that help transform lives in North County.
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (Feb. 14, 2012) ‐‐ Tri‐City Hospital Foundation recently released its audited Fiscal Year 2010‐2011 annual report showing assets of $5.49 million, a 44 percent increase over its 2010 year end. In the fourth quarter alone, the foundation approved funding of over $2 million in new equipment purchases for Tri‐City Medical Center.
Among its equipment purchases were the Stereotactic Biopsy System for the Women’s Diagnostic Center, which helps pinpoint abnormal growth sites that are often too small for manual detection; and an echocardiography system, allowing physicians to visualize 2D and 3D images of patients’ hearts for Tri‐City Medical Center’s Cardiovascular Health Institute that gives cardiac surgeons the ability to repair hearts without having to stop them.
The foundation’s fiscal year ends June 30, and this report includes funds raised for the $1.5 million campaign to fund the da Vinci® Si HD Robotic Surgical System. This state‐of‐the‐art surgical technology allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures, benefiting patients with significantly less pain and faster recovery time.
Employees continue to be one of the foundation’s most valuable assets and donor groups. In 2010, employees raised more than $20,000 to build three healing gardens at Tri‐City Medical Center. The project was a collaborative effort and also included North Coast Church and dozens of companies who
donated goods including Home Depot, Lowe’s, RCO Block & Brick and Hydro‐Scape. In February 2011, they voted to support maternal and child health through the “We Care, We Give” campaign and raised $316,000 in gifts and pledges. The business community has been an important source of support with the foundation’s Corporate Council raising more than $500,000 since 2006 and donating $75,000 in 2011 to purchase biliblankets to treat newborns with jaundice, fetal monitors and the da Vinci® Si HD robotic surgical system.
