Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Named “Wound Care Facility of the Year”

Oceanside – “Wound Care Facility of the Year” is the latest distinction earned by the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Tri-City Medical Center. The Center won the award at the 7th Annual International Symposium for Hyperbaric Oxygen and the Future of Healing on July 24th in Irvine, CA. The educational symposium attracts Hyperbaric Oxygen Theraty (HBOT) physicians and medical practitionaers from around the globe and recongizes organizations and individuals who have demonstrated contributions and acccomplishments in the field of HBOT “above and beyond expectations.”

“Tri-City’s Wound Care Center has consistently maintained a 94% healing rate since opening its doors in 2008,” said Dr. Paul Haydu, Medical Director of the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at TCMC. “National averages for healing are only 84% but our integrated and multidisciplinary approach is making a real difference in our patients’ healing rates and distinguishes us from the competition.”

The Symposium’s judging panel consists of a voluntary group of leading visionaries in the field of HBOT iwth experience ranging from running hyperbaric centers to technology research and development.

Tri-City’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine is an outpatient clinic dedicated to the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds. A multi-disciplinary physician-based clinic, the Center offers a range of services including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, wound care treatment, education and prevention, case management, vascular testing, and nutrition counseling and education.
