Tri-City Purchases Building from Rady Children’s

In an effort to further the strategic development of Tri-City Medical Center, the Tri-City Healthcare District on Monday purchased a one-story, 6,123-square-foot medical building at 4120 Waring Road from Rady Children’s Hospital.

Located on 1.4 acres just north of the Tri-City Medical Center campus, which is bounded by W. Vista Way and Thunder Drive, the property provides Tri-City with the opportunity to plan for the expansion of existing programs, such as cardiac rehab and occupational medicine and other outpatient services, and to offer additional medical office space.

“Tri City Medical Center is pleased to have the opportunity to acquire this property and appreciates the collaboration with Rady Children’s Hospital throughout the acquisition process,” said Tri-City Chief Executive Officer Larry Anderson.

The district recently completed a preliminary campus development study to assess the needs of the community. The acquisition of the Rady building will assist the district in redesigning the 31-acre campus. A new medical office building is already under.

“To support the community needs,” Anderson said, “there will be continuing efforts to develop new facilities around the campus and to provide expansion capabilities during the construction process.”

The district paid $1.425 million for the property.
