Tri-City Medical Center partners with global firm to advance study of wound care

The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif., has been selected as the premiere West Coast Preceptor and Mentor Training Center for Organogenesis, Inc.

Tri-City Medical Center is one of only two locations nationally to partner with Organogenesis, a world leader in regenerative medicine.

“Tri-City’s dedication to quality patient outcomes, its reputation in the medical community, physician panel, and state-of-the-art facility were significant factors in our desire to partner with Tri-City for this program,” said Stephen Milton, Director of Sales Training and Professional Development for Organogenesis, based in Canton, Mass. “It is an honor to partner with Tri-City for this new, national educational program.”

The Preceptorship Program is intended to be an educational setting for Organogenesis employees and healthcare professionals dedicated to learning advanced wound care. The focus will be on the science of wound healing, treatment issues and options for advanced therapies in wound care, proper wound debridement and wound preparation, appropriate wound dressings, and adherence to evidence-based clinical pathways with a focus on a multidisciplinary team approach.

“This is a great opportunity to educate healthcare professionals from around the country in the field of wound care,” said Larry B. Anderson, Chief Executive Officer at Tri-City Medical Center. “This program will highlight our multidisciplinary team approach and our center’s healing outcomes, which have exceeded national benchmarks for the last five years.”
