Tri-City Hospital Foundation Unveils “The Pines” Courtyard

New Relaxation & Meditation Area Becomes Reality thanks to Generous Donations from North Coast Church, Tri-City Medical Center and the Tri-City Hospital Foundation

Vista, CA – Thanks to the generous support of North Coast Church, Tri-City Medical Center and the Tri-City Hospital Foundation, Tri-City Medical Center has just unveiled “The Pines” courtyard, a relaxation and meditation patio and gardens for patients and staff to enjoy. Located just left of the main entrance to the hospital, patients and staff alike will now have a serine destination to reflect, read, visit, or just enjoy a little quiet time.

Previously an un-landscaped area, “The Pines” is a tastefully designed haven that includes a large patio area with tables, lighting, attractive drought-tolerant landscape, flowers and is surrounded by majestic pine trees in a setting that is sure to put one’s mind at ease. Work, valued at $50,000, was completed in just two days.

“I am frequently reminded of the tireless dedication of our community members,” said Tim Moran, CEO of Tri-City Medical Center. “The goodwill of so many members of North Coast Church, along with the generosity of both the Tri-City Hospital Foundation and Tri-City Medical Center, has created a truly attractive and relaxing space for patients, families and staff to enjoy.”

Every two years, teams from the North Coast Church plan a “Weekend of Service,” during which church members adopt projects in the community and donate their time and resources to make significant improvements. For this project, the teams removed old tables, bulldozers cleared the area and crews prepped the space for installation of the new space. Original plans called for a sizable fountain, but recognizing the current water shortages facing the region, the fountain was redesigned to serve as an attractive drought resistant planter filled with beautiful flowers and bench seating.

“These projects are a lot of work, but the reward is seeing how much are able to impact our community in just one weekend,” says North Coast Church Pastor Chris Brown. “It’s a meaningful way for members of our church to create change in our communities.”
