The one-day American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support UPDATE COURSE is intended for participants who work in a healthcare setting and have a current AHA “ACLS Provider” card. You must bring your current ACLS card and current BLS card with you to class. You are required to go the AHA student website and complete the ACLS pre-test, and bring your certificate with you to class.
If you are not an employee of Tri-City Medical Center, you must bring a picture ID.
The ACLS Update course is designed to teach you the lifesaving skills required to perform in both a team leader and a team member role in an unexpected emergency. The current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support student manual is mandatory for the class. You may purchase the manual for $40, in advance of the class, from the Education Department.
Upon completing the course, students will receive an electronic AHA ACLS Course Completion Card, valid for two years. This course will not provide you with a new BLS card. To renew your BLS card during ACLS, go to www.onlineaha.org and complete the HeartCode BLS Online Course Part 1 for $28.50. Register for the hands on skills test, Part 2, during ACLS. The cost for the Part 2 skills test is $30.
Please register in the Education Department, Monday through Friday from 9:00 – 11:00 am or 1:00 – 3:00 pm. For questions, you may call 760.940.3100.
