Event Details

Tri-City Medical Center is teaming up with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and local law enforcement agencies for a nationwide drug “take-back” day. This one-day event will provide North County residents with a free anonymous disposal of unwanted and expired medicines.

It’s a great time to clean out your medicine cabinet! Protect our kids, families and environment by properly disposing of your unwanted and expired medicines. Medicines in the home are a leading cause of accidental poisoning and flushed or trashed medicines can end up polluting our waters. Rates of prescription drug abuse are alarmingly high – over half of teens abusing medicines get them from a family member or friend, including the home medicine cabinet, and often without their knowledge.

The disposal site at Tri-City Medical Center will be in the valet parking lot on the east side of campus. There will be a “drive-thru” style collection where you can drop off the medications without even needing to get out of your vehicle.
