Objectives

At the conclusion of the symposium, the attendees should be able to:

  • Recognize and differentiate serious cardiac and respiratory emergencies from routine presentations
  • Discuss the importance of screening for perinatal depression
  • Understand the management of jaundice in the newborn breastfed infant
  • Understand tongue tie and how it is treated
  • Recognize the sign and symptoms and the treatment for preeclampsia
  • Describe the clinical importance of achieving and maintaining optimal lung volume in the neonatal patient, devices and strategies and new methods of measuring optimal lung volume
