Dr. Janet Dunlap specializes in spine surgery and also serves as a consultant for several spinal product companies. She chose to become an orthopaedic surgeon because she enjoys combining scientific theory, challenges and problem-solving with interacting and helping people.
Her formidable credentials include graduation from UCSD School of Medicine and Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes Hospital and affiliated hospitals for general surgery, an orthopaedic residency and fellowship. Later, she obtained a spinal subspecialty fellowship at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla.
Dr. Dunlap has performed a vast number of research studies, presented at various conferences and published in numerous medical journals. In addition, she received the prestigious Russell Hibbs award at the North American Spine Society for single outstanding research.
When seeing her patients, Dr. Dunlap gives them honest explanations of their conditions and the options available. She is committed to patient care and doing what is best for them rather than using the latest gimmicks. Dr. Dunlap is committed to providing compassionate care to her patients.
She is an avid athlete, enjoys the outdoors, cooking, playing bridge, reading and golf.
