Tri-City Medical Center to encourage healthy living at the 1st Annual Mid-Summer's Health and Wellness Fair

OCEANSIDE, April 28 - Tri-City Medical Center will host the 1st Annual Mid-Summer's Health and Wellness Fair Thursday, July 10 on the Medical Center campus located at 4002 Vista Way, Oceanside.  It will take place in the North West Parking lot from 4 - 7 p.m.

"As obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure cases continue to rise, it's paramount that we educate the public about not only the services we provide that help to combat these diseases, but also provide the community with the tools necessary to achieve a healthy lifestyle," said Vernon Pertelle, Sr. Director and Assistant Vice President, Tri-City Medical Center.

Tri-City professionals will provide free health screenings, information about disease prevention and explain how to access services offered by the hospital, including the new Health and Wellness Complex scheduled to open November 2008.  The fair will also feature a technology tour, entertainment, food, drinks and guest appearances by sports celebrities.

"A healthy lifestyle is something everyone should strive for, but also something everyone deserves an equal chance to accomplish," added Vernon Pertelle.  "We feel that this fair is an opportunity to learn about disease prevention and how to overcome obstacles to living the best life possible.  This is a key mission of Tri-City Medical Center."
