As guests began enjoying their five-star dinner, they were entertained by the opening act of the evening - Interim CEO Casey Fatch sang and played guitar. His performance wowed the crowd as he played “Take it Easy.”

Following Casey, the three Tri-City Rock Star finalists performed. David Nevin, an Environmental Services VS employee sang “More Today Than Yesterday.” Cielo Cayabyab from Finance sang “I Will Survive,” and Sadie Sheldon, an Auxiliary volunteer, sang “House of the Rising Sun.” The guests then voted and later that evening, David Nevin was named Tri-City Rock Star 2013. He will receive a recording session at Studio West Recording Studio valued at over $2,000. Up and coming electronic dance artist Krys Justice will help David produce his track.

The evening ended with the presentation of the Legacy Award to John Haedrich, philanthropist and owner of Tip Top Meats in Carlsbad. Diamond Ball 2013 was certainly an evening to remember as well as an over-the-top success, netting more than $200,000. The proceeds will help Tri-City Medical Center with the purchase of new technological equipment.
