If so, we’ve got an exciting race coming up, complete with beautiful coastal scenery and some of the best race swag available. Sign up today for the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Full and Half Marathon on January 20, 2019, and be part of an exciting community health and wellness event!

The Race

The Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon and Half will take place on Sunday, January 20. The full marathon begins at 6:45 AM, with the half marathon and Surf Sun Run 5K starting shortly after. Race entry includes a technical long-sleeve race shirt, a zip pullover jacket, and much more! Upon finishing the race, runners also receive a nourishing “Nom Nom Bag” full of delicious and nutritious foods to help you refuel after the race.

What to Do

During race weekend, there are several exciting events to explore. The Health and Lifestyle Expo will showcase several athletic and health vendors and exhibits offering bargain apparel and race gear. Runners should check in for the race at the Health and Lifestyle Expo on Friday or Saturday in order to receive a race shirt and bib number. Runners who are not able to pick up their own items in person may designate an authorized individual to pick them up instead.

After the race, there will also be a Finish Line Festival taking place at the Shoppes at Carlsbad, featuring live music and a beer garden for those over 21 years of age. The Festival presents a great opportunity for runners to connect with their families and celebrate the end of the event.

How to Train

Training instruction for the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Full and Half Marathon is provided to runners through In Motion Fit. In Motion Fit offers three unique running seasons throughout the year with the purpose of training for Half Marathon Triple Crown events. The winter training season is geared specifically toward the Carlsbad Full and Half Marathon.

Runners of all skill levels who register for membership in the training program will reap the benefits of a fun and encouraging coaching staff, group runs, social events, and more.

How to Volunteer

Maybe you’re not a runner, but you’d like to participate. Are you interested in supporting nearly 9,000 race participants in reaching their goal? Volunteers are always needed for a variety of times and positions!

You can sign up as an individual or as a group of five or more people through the Titan Volunteers website. There, you’ll find many open positions, including: greeting, check-in, registration, course support, hospitality, medal distribution, and more. Volunteering provides a unique way to show support for this exciting community wellness opportunity.

Feeling Lucky?

Every year, the Tri-City Wellness Center partners with other race sponsors to honor a group of runners known as the Lucky 13. These runners are selected from hundreds of applicants and receive special perks, including a six-month membership at Tri-City Wellness. Complete the application for your chance to enter the race as a Lucky 13 winner.
