Lisa Reynolds – Marketing & Communications Manager
Lisa Reynolds serves on TCMC’s External Affairs team as the Marketing and Communications Manager. In this role, Lisa is responsible for the management and implementation of marketing and communications activities in support of Tri-City Healthcare District.
An award-winning marketing, communications and public relations professional, Lisa has served in a wide-variety of local organizations including a Fortune 500 company, a premier college-preparatory private school and a Top 10 U.S.-based botanic garden.
Lisa is proud to have received a Silver Anvil and two Bronze Anvil Awards from her peers at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for her work in the industry, as well as several Bernays Mark of Excellence Awards from the regional PRSA chapter.
She holds a BA in Journalism from San Diego State University and a MA in Theology from Bethel Seminary, San Diego.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys hanging out at the beach, hiking in our local mountains, riding her friend’s horses and traveling around the world.
Aaron Byzak – Chief External Affairs Officer
Aaron Byzak joined Tri-City Medical Center as the Chief External Affairs Officer in May 2018. In this role, Byzak is responsible for the healthcare district’s marketing, communications, government affairs, and community engagement activities.
For more than two decades, Aaron has served in positions of progressive leadership in Emergency Medical Services, health policy, healthcare management, and consulting. He has received numerous best practice awards and national recognitions for his leadership and work in healthcare, public health, advocacy, and communications including four Emmy Awards. Aaron was recognized by the Health Care Communicators of San Diego County with the Communicator of the Year Award in 2017.
Aaron is also founder and chief advocate of Hazel’s Army, a community advocacy and education group that in 2014 helped pass the most comprehensive assisted living reform agenda in California’s history.
He earned his Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management and Policy from UC Irvine’s Merage School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Chapman University. Additionally, Aaron earned certificates in leadership from Cornell University and UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. He is Board Certified in Healthcare Management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Aaron resides in Vista with his family.
Jessica Shrader – Government Affairs and Community Engagement Manager
Jessica Shrader has been with Tri-City Medical Center since 2016 where serves as Government Affairs and Community Engagement Manager. In her role, Jessica is responsible for managing relationships with more than 60 non-profit community partners to address the health and social service needs in the Tri-City Healthcare District as part of the medical center’s COASTAL Commitment program.
Jessica has more than two decades of experience managing programs for at-risk communities in the education, social services, and healthcare sectors. She serves on the board of directors for the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce where she chairs the Workforce Development Committee, as well as on the Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties (HASDIC) Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Task Force.
Jessica earned her BA in Psychology from the UC San Diego and is a graduate of the Vista Leadership Academy. Jessica will graduate in Spring of 2021 with her MBA from the University of Doane with a specialized emphasis in leadership, healthcare management and project management.
John McAndrew – Marketing & Communications Specialist
John McAndrew serves on the External Affairs team as the Marketing & Communications Specialist.
A native of Oceanside who was born at TCMC, he grew up locally and graduated from CSU San Marcos with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in history.
Post-grad, John spent time as an intern for a local record label assisting in the promotion of their artists and growing his capabilities in communications and marketing.
John worked in the local service industry for a number of years, which he credits with helping him understand the community he serves. John looks forward to serving as part of the award-winning External Affairs team at TCMC.
Outside of the office John is a runner, foodie and an avid consumer of music.
