Biography

Dr. Li earned her degree in Medicine from Shanghai Railway Medical University in China where she graduated with an honor rewarded by Shanghai Higher Education Bureau. She then completed her postgraduate clinical training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at Shanghai Ruijin Hospital. She pursued her interest in preventive medicine, nutrition and immunity and received her Ph.D. in Nutrition at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health at Chapel Hill with A. Hughes Bryan Outstanding Doctoral Student Award.

Awarded with research fellowships from Arthritis Foundation and NIH, she conducted medical research in arthritis, vaccine development, infectious and allergic diseases at the Scripps Research Institute and at the School of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Clinical Immunology in UCSD. Dr. Li completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Rutgers University New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Li is a member of the American College of Physician.

Dr. Li’s interests include spending time with her family, reading, cooking, playing tennis, watching sport games and movies.
