COASTAL Partnership: Wounded Warrior Homes

Tri-City Medical Center is proud to partner with Wounded Warrior Homes as part of our COASTAL Commitment. This month, we are highlighting the outstanding work they do for our veterans.

About Wounded Warrior Homes

Wounded Warrior Homes is a crucial organization for the military community of North County. Their mission is to facilitate the transition from wounded warrior to successful civilian, for all the veterans they assist. Wounded Warrior Homes focuses on re-integrating veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) through their LIFe (Live Independently Forever) Transition program. This program provides veterans transitional housing and support services to their wounded warriors. Wounded Warrior Homes also offers support services through their food pantry to reduce food insecurity.

Currently, 135 veterans are accessing services through Wounded Warrior Homes. Co-founder and Executive Director, Mia Roseberry shared, “We build relationships with our veterans in order to best fit their needs.” Through support and service, compassion, collaboration, integrity, competence and respect for the dignity of each person, Wounded Warrior Homes is committed to caring for our veterans.

COASTAL Partnership

Through our COASTAL Commitment, Tri-City Medical Center is currently supporting the completion of their new tiny house that directly supports and expands their LIFe (Live Independently Forever) Transition program. This new tiny house will lead to the impact of successful transitions for a minimum of 6 veterans per year for many years to come. This partnership impacts the health needs of our community and positively affects the social determinants of health in alignment with the findings of the Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties Community Health Needs Assessment.

Wounded Warrior Homes values their relationships with the community that allow them to serve its veterans to the best of their abilities. Through the support of veteran’s mental health in their LIFe program, our COASTAL Commitment partnership with Wounded Warrior Homes is vital for the well-being of our veterans and the health and wellness of North County.
