Biography

Dr. David Amory is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship trained in spine surgery. He went to Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Illinois, Cook County Hospital and Rush Presbyterian Medical Center.

His professional interests include total joint replacement of the knee and hip and spine surgery. Dr. Amory also specializes in minimally invasive total hip replacements through either an anterior or posterior approach.

For younger, more active patients, Dr. Amory specializes in hip resurfacing and has embraced cutting edge techniques in spinal surgery.

He routinely performs Kyphoplasty to treat compression fractures, as it is one of the few procedures a surgeon does where the patient usually wakes up immediately feeling improvement.

Dr. Amory also performs two other procedures: The X-STOP procedure, a minimally invasive procedure that is done for spinal stenosis instead of laminectomy. The other procedure he performs is the XLIFS, which are extreme lateral inter-body fusions.

Dr. Amory truly enjoys seeing patients improve their quality of life and decreasing their level of pain.
