Turkey Trot
The 16th Annual Turkey Trot is a family-friendly event that promotes an active lifestyle within our community. You can choose between a 5M run, 5K run, 5K walk or the Tiny Trotter races just for the kids. The trot benefits 90 schools and charities that support the residents of Oceanside and the Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation!
About Move Your Feet Before You Eat®! Foundation
Tri-City Medical Center has been a long-standing partner with the Move Your Feet Before You Eat®! Foundation. The Carlsbad-based Move Your Feet Before You Eat®! Foundation was created to promote health and well-being through incorporating regular physical fitness into daily life. Through our COASTAL Commitment partnership with the Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation, we address the chronic conditions that are most prevalent within our community such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity.
Throughout the years, Tri-City has sponsored their Miles of Smiles program – a student lap tracker program that focuses on encouraging physical activity among young people who face an epidemic of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes that are an increasing threat. Once a student runs 50 miles in a semester, they receive Miles of Smiles shoelaces that encourage and remind them of the importance of physical activity. Our partnerships with the Move Your Feet Before You Eat®! Foundation and the O’side Turkey Trot support the promotion of a healthy and active lifestyle.
