Stroke Care – Nationally Recognized

Tri-City Medical Center was awarded the Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award by the American Heart Association for our commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally-recognized, research-based guidelines.

Tri-City also received the American Heart Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Award. To qualify for this recognition, hospitals must meet specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with thrombolytic therapy.

In addition, Tri-City also was honored with the American Heart Association’s Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Award. This award honors hospitals that ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes, who might be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to a stroke.

Stroke Care – Nationally Certified

Tri-City Medical Center was awarded the Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award. With this recognition, Tri-City has been rewarded with the Target: Stroke Honor Roll for rapid stroke care. This award is given by the American Stroke and Heart Associations and certifies 85% or higher adherence to standards and quality care measures.

Hospitals receiving Get With The Guidelines® – Gold Plus Achievement Award have reached an aggressive goal of treating (heart failure or stroke) patients with 85 percent or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for 24 consecutive months. In addition, those hospitals have demonstrated 75 percent compliance to (four out of nine heart failure quality measures or seven out of ten stroke quality measures) during the 12-month period.

Heart Failure – Nationally Certified

Tri-City Medical Center has earned the Get With The Guidelines® – Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award. This recognition signifies excellence and expectation for care that’s consistent with the latest scientific guidelines from the American Stroke and Heart Associations. Tri-City Medical Center is the only medical center in San Diego County to receive Gold Plus Awards in both heart failure and stroke care. Tri-City Medical Center must maintain 85% or higher adherence to standards and quality care measures. This recognition also requires 75% compliance with at least 4 of the GWTG Heart Failure quality measures for improving patient outcomes. This prestigious honor makes Tri-City Medical Center a destination of choice and is a reflection of the commitment toward the community it serves.

Resuscitation Quality Achievement Award

This award recognizes our commitment and success in implementing a high standard of resuscitation care by ensuring that our resuscitation patients receive treatment that meets nationally accepted, evidence-based standards and recommendations.

Mission: Lifeline® Gold Receiving Center

Mission-Lifeline-Icon-2015-GoldThe American Heart Association has recognized Tri-City Medical Center with the Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center – Gold Level Recognition Award. This award is granted as a result of 85% or higher composite adherence to all Mission: Lifeline® STEMI Receiving Center quality achievement indicators for consecutive 24-month intervals and 75% or higher compliance on all Mission: Lifeline® STEMI Receiving Center quality measures to improve the quality of care for STEMI patients.

Mission: Lifeline® NSTEMI Gold Receiving Center

Mission: Lifeline® NSTEMI Gold Receiving CenterThe American Heart Association has recognized Tri-City Medical Center with the Mission: Lifeline® NSTEMI Gold Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who suffer heart attacks. This award is earned by achieving at least two consecutive years interval with 65% or higher adherence to the Dual Antiplatelet Therapy prescription at discharge and 75% or higher compliance on each of the Mission: Lifeline® STEMI Receiving Center quality measures.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center – Nationally Certified

Certification is given to programs that meet stringent guidelines for coordination of care, documentation and implementation of best practices.

Cardiac Rehabilitation – Nationally Certified
