For overall cardiovascular health, The American Heart Association recommends:

Exercise at least 3 to 5 days a week

Either 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity

Or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity

Plus muscle strengthening activities at least 2 times a week

To lower your blood pressure and cholesterol, as well as your risk of stroke or heart attack, you need:

An average of 40 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity aerobic activity 3 to 4 times a week
