da vinci xi surgical systemOCEANSIDE, Calif. – Tri-City Medical Center announces that it is now utilizing the innovative da Vinci Xi Surgical System to deliver the best possible patient outcomes through minimally invasive procedures. Tri-City Medical Center is the first health care provider in the region to utilize the da Vinci Xi System, which is the most advanced robotic surgery technology available.

Tri-City Medical Center is now offering additional minimally invasive procedures, including multi-quadrant surgeries in the areas of gynecology, urology, thoracic, cardiac and general surgery. Surgeons utilize the da Vinci Xi System for precise procedures that:

  • Are less invasive than “open surgery”
  • Allow shorter hospital stays and faster recovery
  • Require less narcotic pain medicine
  • Have smaller incisions and minimal scarring

“We’re committed to delivering the most advanced health care possible to our patients,” said David Bennett, chief marketing officer at Tri-City Medical Center. “The minimally invasive procedures the da Vinci Xi System allows us to perform mean optimal health outcomes and faster recoveries, which allow our patients to get back to living their lives as fast as possible.”

By enabling efficient access throughout the abdomen or chest, the da Vinci Xi System expands upon core da Vinci System features, including wristed instruments, 3D-HD visualization, intuitive motion, and an ergonomic design. A specialty-trained Tri-City Medical Center surgeon is in complete control of the robotic-assisted da Vinci System, which translates his/her hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments operating on the patient’s body. The da Vinci Xi System’s immersive 3D-HD vision system provides surgeons a highly-magnified view, allowing for the most precise procedures possible.

The da Vinci Xi System is an expandable technology platform that is designed to accommodate and seamlessly integrate a range of current technologies, as well as future innovations, in areas such as imaging, advanced instruments and anatomical access.
